Non voglio che questo blog torni ad essere silenzioso, ma purtroppo questo periodo è un po' buio.

Mi bevo un tè e mi tranquillizzo.

Mi vedrete però presto ad un nuovo Handmade Weddings&Life, questa volta alla Libreria con cucina "Cuculia", sempre a Firenze. Oggi sono stata a vedere il posto, è molto accogliente e rilassante.
Il 20 dicembre, ultima domenica prima di Natale, sarò lì per aiutare tutti i disperati che non avranno ancora comprato i loro regali! Potrete gustarvi un brunch, pranzare, prendere l'aperitivo o cenare scegliendo dall'ottimo menù (che oggi ho solo preso in visione, ma sembra tutto ottimo!), loro saranno aperti e io sarò lì col mio piccolo tavolo a consigliarvi i regali giusti. ;)

Anyway, you'll find me soon at the new (and improved! LOL) Handmade Weddings&Life, this time at "Cuculia", bookstore with kitchen, in Florence. Today I went there to take a look around, it's a very cosy and relaxing place.
On December 20th, the last Sunday before Christmas, I'll be there to help all those desperate people who still haven't think about the gifts! You could have a brunch, or a lunch, or a happyhour, even a dinner from their wonderful menu (that I just read, but everything looks delicious), they'll be open 'til late and I'll be there with my little table, to suggest you the best presents for your beloved.

Poche ore al mio compleanno! 24!!

Mi aspettano cinque giorni di ferie (e festeggiamenti): domani sera verrò rapita dai genitori per una cena thailandese fatta in casa, dopodomani preparerò lo zaino e mercoledì volo tre giorni a Palermo a trovare parenti e amici che non vedo da tempo. Tornerò venerdì mattina e la sera andrò ad una cena di "rimpatriata" del liceo... eh, sono passati già 5 anni! e a me sembra ieri!
A propositodi liceo, l'altro giorno io e il fidanzato siamo stati all'occupazione del Liceo Gramsci, frequentato da mia sorella, non perché avevamo voglia di gioventù bruciata, ma perché a Tommi era stato chiesto di fare un intervento sulla libertà di stampa (un po' in quanto capogruppo del PD di Fiesole, un po' in quanto laureando in Giurisprudenza). E' stata un'esperienza molto simpatica, Tommi ha parlato tanto e risposto alle loro domande, ma forse non si era reso bene conto che alcune cose del nostro (abbastanza) recente passato non sono state proprio vissute dal suo uditorio nato in media nel 1993!

E a proposito di compleanno vi avviso che per festeggiare avrete uno SCONTO del 20% su tutti i prodotti del mio negozio per tutta la settimana 19-25 Ottobre!
Come fare ad avere lo sconto?
1) Al momento della conferma scrivete nelle "note to the seller": Happy Birthday! Se ve ne scordate, potete mandare una convo. Niente nota/convo, niente sconto.
2) Attendi il rimborso via Paypal entro 24h dalla ricezione del pagamento (assicuratevi di aver pagato accedendo e confermando sul sito di Paypal).
3) Le spedizioni saranno TUTTE effettuate lunedì 26 Ottobre, non conta in questo caso cosa è scritto nelle policies del negozio.

Just a few hours to my birthday! 24!!
I have five days off from work to rest and party: tomorrow I'll have a Thai dinner made at home by mum, the day after I'll prepare my bag and on wednesday I'll leave for Palermo to meet some friends and relatives I don't see since a while. I'll be back on friday when I'll have a dinner with all friends of High School... it's already been 5 years! it seems yesterday to me!
Talking about High School, a few days ago boyfriend&me went to my sister's High School squatting (in Italy, every autumn it often take place a school squatting for about a week, we demonstrate usually against the government school reforms that every year are worse) to talk about freedom of the press (a bit as group leader of PD , the Italian left party, in his town Fiesole, and a bit as final-year student in Law). It was a nice experience, Tommi talked a lot and answered their questions, but maybe he didn't well recognize that most of the things he was talking about happened before his audience was born!

Riguardo alla nuova casa ci siamo decisi e oggi abbiamo cominciato le giratine all'IKEA... abbiamo anche deciso il parquet, ma dobbiamo avere pazienza: prima quella casa andrà svuotata, smattonellata, rimattonellata, imbiancata per bene e alla fine potremo posare il parquet da 9€/mq!

We made a decision about the new apartment and today we started to go to IKEA... we also decided which kind of parquet floor keep, but we must wait: first the flat is going to be emptied out, we have to de-tile the kitchen and re-tile it and paint the walls. Then we can put the new parquet: only 9€/sq.m!
English Translation: salotto=living room, cucina=kitchen, camera=(bed)room, bagno=bathroom, ingresso=entrance

L'idea per il salotto (al momento) è di usare come colori il nero il bianco e il rosso: abbiamo già un divano rosso e dei porta cd rossi, quindi dovremo comunque risfruttarli.
Però questo divanetto giallo è il mio sogno! Magari lo metto nell'ingresso!!

The idea for our living room (at the moment) is to use colors like black, white and red: we already own a red couch and some red cd shelves, we have to re-use them.
But this yellow couch is my dream! Perhaps I could use it for the entrance!!
(You can't see it in the picture but it's made with corduroy and you can put together more units to make one bigger couch)

Autunno o no?

Ma l'autunno arriva o no?? Io non so più cosa indossare! Non ho vestiti per le mezze stagioni e *vorrei* risparmiare perché mi sono appena comprata un portatile (yeeeeeah)... sì, vi sto proprio scrivendo dal mio fiammante portatile HP, tutto nero con una bella Q argentata nel mezzo. E un fantastico mouse a forma di bruco (volevo la coccinella, ma tant'è... mi hanno regalato questo).Scusate se da quando sono tornata dalle vacanze vado a rilento e scrivo molto meno, non so perché ma mi sono ulteriormente impigrita. Il fidanzato mi guarda torvo da dietro la montagna di panni da stirare e le scarpe in giro per il monolocale tra un po' si andranno a mettere a posto da sole, stufe di starsene spaiate per la casa.

Ho delle novità però: molto probabilmente cambierò (presto? non si sa) casa. Andremo a stare in una casa con una stanza e mezzo in più che apparteneva ai nonni del fidanzato: finalmente avrò una camera da letto, e forse anche un vero salotto! uau!
I pro: è più grande e di affitto pagheremmo meno, perché daremmo solo un contributo alla zia coproprietaria dell'appartamento. I contro: è più lontana dal centro (Firenze è un buco, ok, ma il mio sogno proibito è andare a stare in S. Niccolò o in S. Frediano, cosa che probabilmente non si avvererà mai, ma continuo a sperarci) e il fatto di abitare in una casa di proprietà di parenti non mi alletta. Lo so che qualcuno penserà che sputo in faccia alla miseria avendo una casa (quasi) regalata, ma io davvero sento il bisogno di essere indipendente, sempre.
Dopo qualche giorno di estreme tribolazioni e ansie ho deciso che la migliore cosa da fare una di queste mattine è andare a riguardare questa casa e cominciare a svuotarla mentalmente e ridecorarla come piace a me. Ho già cominciato in realtà, ma voglio cominciare a concretizzare i pensieri... si possono concretizzare i pensieri anche se ancora non ho la casa??

Autumn or not?? I don't know what to wear in these days! I don't have nice clothes for this mid season and I'd *like* to save a little because I just bought a new laptop (yeeeeeeah)... yes, I'm writing from my brand new black HP laptop, with a nice silver Q in the middle. And I also have a beautiful caterpillar mouse (I preferred the ladybug but they gave me this one and I took it).
I'm so sorry because I'm not writing regularly since I came back from holidays, I don't know why but I'm even more lazy then before. My boyfriend is looking at me menacing from a pile of clothes that need to be ironed and all the shoes around the flat are going to store by themselves at their place, tired to be left around the house.
I have news btw: I will probably move in a few months. We are going to live in the flat that was owned by Boyfriend's nana: I'll finally have a bedroom and a living room! wow!
The pros: it's bigger then our current flat, and we are going to pay less rent because we will just have to pay a contribute to Boyfriend's aunt. The cons: it's more far from downtown (Florence is a hole, but my dream is to live in one of two beautiful areas downtown called St. Niccolò and St. Frediano, it' s a thing that probably will never happen but I continue my dream) and I really don't think that living in a house property of relatives is the best thing to do. I know that someone will probably think it's obscene to refuse a house (almost) for free but I really need my indipendence, ever (and btw I'm not refusing it).
So after a few days of tribulations and anxiety I decided that the best thing to do is to go there one of these mornings and start to figure out how to redecorate it with my style. I actually already started to think about it but I really want to concretise my thoughts... is it possible to concretise a thought even if I still don't have the house??

A-choo!!

In questi giorni non riesco a fare niente, mi alzo tardi e volo a lavoro, torno, mangio e vado a letto... in più sono super raffreddata e mi sento debolissima, avrò la suina? Oink oink! ; )

Su Etsy è tutto fermissimo, ma cerco di impegnarmi un pochino tra forum, treasury e chat. Insomma, le solite cose... il punto è che però non riesco a preparare niente di nuovo!
Così oggi ho approntato un mega set fotografico per fare le foto ai miei famosi folletti che, dopo le prime foto con i rami di rosa canina (?) che erano bellissime, non sono mai più riuscita a fotografare decentemente... se riesco a fargli delle belle foto li metterò in vendita su Etsy. Vorrei farlo prima di sabato perché nel voter vogliono mettere oggetti che riguardano il mondo magico dei boschi! Vorrei candidarmi per questa piccola finestra pubblicitaria, sarei felice di essere scelta dagli amministratori!
During these days I can't do anything, I wake up late, I run to work, when I'm back I just eat and go to bed... plus, I have a bad cold and feel weak, do I have the swine flu? Oink oink! ; ) On Etsy is everything still, I try to work a bit in the forum, treasuries and chat. Well, as usual... but I can't prepare anything new! Today I prepared a super photoshooting set to make some pictures of my famous sprites that, after the pictures I made on the the dog rose (?) branches that I loved, I couldn't picture again well... if I'll be able to make some good photos I'll finally sell them on Etsy. And I'd like to do it before saturday so I could candidate myself to be in the voter next week! They're opening a spot about magic woodland life, I'll be happy to be chosen by the administrators for this little ad!
Vi starete chiedendo come è andato il Crafternoon... BENISSIMO!! Eravamo io, Claudia, Catalina e Laura! Io avevo preparato la merenda (succo e cupcake!), ma Claudia ci ha portato una meravigliosa (e buonissima) torta alle carote. Ho anche ricevuto dei bellissimi regali: la Balena Contemori, un vaso pieno di perline che ancora non ho avuto il coraggio di aprire e un puntaspilli a forma di cupcake!
Devo farli più spesso questi pomeriggini, se si ricevono tutti questi bei regali: grazie ragazze!
Abbiamo chiacchierato a lungo e ci siamo scambiate informazioni e consigli interessanti, la prossima volta però vogliamo essere in dieci!
Well, probably you're wondering about how my Crafternoon was... EXCELLENT!! I was with Claudia, Catalina and Laura! I had prepared a snack (orange juice and cupcakes!), but Claudia brought a wonderful (and delicious) carrot cake. I also received some beautiful presents: the Contemori Whale, a jar full of beads that I didn't have the courage to open yet, and a cupcake pincushion! I should make more of this Crafternoons, if I get all this gorgeus stuff: thanks girls! We chatted a lot and excanged info and interesting suggestions, next time we want to be ten people, not just four!

Il giorno prima del Crafternoon ho avuto ospiti i miei due cuginetti nani preferiti, inutile dire che ci siamo divertiti da morire!
Dovete sapere che Arianna (9 anni) va pazza per la cioccolata, mentre suo fratello Daniele (7 anni) alla cioccolata preferisce frutta e verdura. Ancora nessuno di noi capisce come ciò sia possibile, e siamo tutti molto dispiaciuti per lui, ma vi giuro che l'ho visto piangere perché una sera sua mamma gli ha detto che era tardi per la frutta e doveva andare a letto. Non piangeva perché doveva andare a dormire. No. Piangeva perché voleva a tutti i costi mangiare la frutta. Giuro.
Insomma, per divertirci abbiamo preparato i muffin per la colazione del giorno dopo, ne abbiamo fatti nove al cioccolato e tre alle pesche (il frutto preferito del nano). Poi abbiamo preparato l'impasto per le crépes e a cena ci hanno raggiunto mia mamma e mia sorella.
Durante la cena ci siamo visti l'unico film che si adattasse perfettamente: Ratatouille!
Dopo cena lettura veloce dei primi capitoli de Il GGG di Roald Dahl e poi a nanna! Pensavo gli avrebbe fatto un po' paura, visto che parla di bambini svegli la notte, senza genitori... ma come sempre resto meravigliata da come ci facciamo delle idee completamente sbagliate su cosa impressioni realmente i bambini!
Then, the day before the Crafternoon, I had here my favourite little cousins,no need to say we had a lot of fun! You have to know that Arianna (9 y.o.) loves chocolate, but her brother Daniele (7 y.o.) instead prefere fruits and vegetables. None understands yet how this could be possible, and we're so very sorry for him, but I swear I saw him cry because was too late to eat fruit and his mum was sending him to bed. He wasn't crying because he had to go to sleep. No. He was crying because he wanted fruit. I swear. So, we baked muffins for breakfast, we made nine with chocolate and three with peaches (Daniele's favourite fruit). Then we prepared the mix fo crépes and my mum and my sister came for dinner at my place. During dinner we also watched the best movie for this occasion: Ratatouille! After dinner we had a quick reading of The BFG by Roald Dahl and then we went to bed! I thought they probably could be a little scared, since it tells about children awaken during the night, without parents... but, as always, I'm always surprised at the reaction kids have at what we adults consider scary!

ETSYVERSARY!

E finalmente è arrivato l'Etsy-versario! Due anni da quando ho aperto il negozietto con tante speranze e poca voglia di fare... ma adesso la voglia e la fiducia in me stessa sono aumentate, il negozio è cresciuto, le vendite cominciano (poche, ma buone! grazie tantissime ai miei primi clienti!!).

Agosto è un mese particolare per me: molte delle cose più importanti della mia vita sono capitate in questo periodo.
Per questo credo che il mio negozietto debba avere un posto speciale, proprio perché anche lui è nato in agosto.
Insomma, per festeggiare ho messo al -20% (quasi) tutto il negozio, trovate gli oggetti in saldo qui, nella sezione "E T S Y V E R S A R Y SALE".

Per cominciare finalmente in tempo, ho già inserito due borse a tema Halloween! Stavolta nelle foto ci sono anche io (o meglio, i miei jeans e le mie scarpe...), ho convinto il Fidanzato, anche se è completamente incapace di usare una digitale... ma qualcosa è venuta sufficientemente a fuoco!
Finally it's my Etsy-versary! Two years ago I opened with a lot of hopes and a not so much will to work... but now I found the strenght and self confidence to work better, my shop grew up, I'm starting to sell (just a few things, but thanks a LOT to my first customer!!).
August is a particular month to me: a lot of the most important things of my life happened in this time.
That's why I believe that my shop must have a special place in my life, only because it was born in August.

And to start on time, I uploaded on Etsy a couple of Halloween Shopping Bags! And this time I'm in the pictures, too (actually just my jeans and my shoes...)! I convinced Boyfriend to take me some pictures, even though he's totally unable to use a digital camera... but something is enough in focus!

I'm Back Again!

Sono tornata dalle vacanze! Due settimane in Sardegna, a non fare niente, sdraiata in spiaggia, non siamo nemmeno mai usciti la sera... la sera si andava a cena e poi a nanna presto! Ma presto! Spesso anche alle dieci! E pensare che quando sono a casa il letto non mi vede prima dell'una!

State pronti (attenti, via!) perché il 19 Agosto è il mio Etsy-versario, 2 anni da quando sono iscritta, meno da quando ci lavoro più seriamente, ma dobbiamo festeggiare lo stesso, no?

I'm back from vacations! Two weeks in Sardinia, nothing to do, relaxing on the beach, we never went out the night... we just went to dinner and then right back to the camping! Really soon! Sometimes even at 10pm! Do you believe that when I'm home I never go to sleep before 1am?

Then, get ready for my Etsy-versary on the 19th of August, 2 years since I joined, even if it's less time that I work on that, but we hve to party anyway, isn'it?
